Learn a Niche That Has Potential

Before making money, I had to understand the market. I dove into the world of digital products, specifically Notion templates. I studied:

  • What problems people were solving with Notion

  • Popular template categories (productivity, finance, habit tracking)

  • Pricing strategies (one-time payments vs. subscriptions)

  • How successful creators marketed their products

I used ChatGPT and YouTube to research trends, analyze competitors, and validate my ideas before creating anything.

My Money-Making Workflow

1.Research & Idea Generation with ChatGPT + YouTube

Once I found my niche, the next challenge was figuring out what people actually wanted. I use ChatGPT to brainstorm template ideas, outline blog posts, and generate descriptions. Alongside that, I rely on YouTube to understand trending topics, find gaps in the market, and see what kind of templates people are loving (or asking for).

2.Build in Notion

This is where the real magic happens. I take the research and start building beautiful, functional templates directly in Notion. I make sure every template solves a specific problem, feels smooth to use, and looks clean and minimal.

3.Designing Covers & Social Media Assets

Once the template is ready, I head over to Canva to create eye-catching covers and social media posts. Good visuals make a huge difference—they’re often the first thing a potential customer sees. I design with clarity and consistency to match my brand vibe.

4.Promote Everywhere

Creating amazing templates is only half the battle. Effective promotion is key to reaching your audience:

  • Strategic Sharing: I actively shared snippets, previews, and testimonials of my templates across relevant social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, specific Notion communities).

  • Value-Driven Content: Instead of just blatant promotion, I focused on sharing valuable tips and insights related to my niche, naturally weaving in mentions of my templates as solutions.

  • Engagement: I actively engaged with comments and messages, building a community around my offerings.

5.Drive Traffic to My Framer Website

All roads lead to my Framer website, which acts as my central hub. It’s where I showcase my templates, link to my blogs, and keep everything beautifully branded. Framer makes it super easy to create a smooth, modern site without touching code.

6.Sell Through Gumroad & LemonSqueezy

I use both Gumroad and LemonSqueezy for selling my products and collecting emails. These platforms make the selling process seamless and give me useful analytics on what’s working and what’s not. Plus, they handle the payments—so I can focus on creating.

7.Email Marketing with Kit

Once someone grabs a freebie or purchases a template, they’re added to my email list in ConvertKit. This is where I nurture my audience with helpful content, product updates, and occasional upsells. It’s one of the biggest contributors to ongoing sales.

8.Collect Testimonials with Tally Forms

Social proof is incredibly powerful. Tally Form allows me to easily collect testimonials from satisfied customers:

  • Simple and Effective Forms: Tally Form makes it easy for customers to share their positive experiences.

  • Showcasing Success Stories: I prominently feature these testimonials on my website to build trust and credibility with potential buyers.

Final Thoughts

Reaching my first $1,000 wasn’t about going viral or being perfect—it was about showing up consistently, learning as I go, and building a system that works. If you’re just starting out, know that it's totally doable with the right mindset and workflow.
